About the Department
The branch of Electronics & Communication Engineering is one of the most sought after branches by most of the prospective students and is filled by the meritorious ones. Electronics and Communication Engineering is a study of various principles and practical aspects related to designing various telecommunications equipment including developing prototypes of integrated circuit components. The Department offers two PG programmes, one in DC (Digital Communication) and the other in VLSI.
Graduation/post-graduation in ECE opens up multiple career prospects for students in manufacturing and service organizations such as Indian Telephone Industries, Civil Aviation, Defence, Railways, Bharat Electronics Limited, D.R.D.O, Telecommunication, Software Engineering/IT, Power sector, Hardware Manufacturing, Home Appliance and VLSI design, Television Industry and Research & Development. Engineers can also avail opportunities in cross-functional engineering projects that utilize technology of communication devices and servers. The major driving force for the present day development in Electronics Engineering is the advancements in microelectronics, satellite and optical fibre technology, analog and digital communication techniques capable of implementing fast and efficient telecommunication systems.

Dr. Amrut Anilrao Purohit — Professor & HOD
Since its inception, the department has grown remarkably on various parameters of educational achievements, projects, research, placements etc. for we provide a solid foundation in this vital field of Engineering by offering a well-rounded, up-to-date curriculum that provides an optimal balance between theory and practice.
The department has well qualified and highly motivated faculty members and 10 state-of-the-art, fully equipped labs including MMIC & PCB fabrication lab, IoT Lab, DSP lab, Fiber Optic lab, VLSI lab and MEMS lab to cater to the needs of both UG and PG students. In addition to their regular teaching, the faculty perseveres to stay updated about the latest and emerging technologies and methods by engaging in research in various areas like Microwave Theory & Techniques, Antenna Techniques, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI design, MEMS, etc. and publishes papers in national and international conferences and indexed journals.
Students are encouraged to work on quality projects and publish papers at conferences under the guidance of faculty members. The department regularly conducts short-term courses in emerging areas of Electronics and Communications such as Arduino based Embedded Systems, Raspberry Pi, Programming & Interfacing with Microcontrollers and Embedded System Design using FPGAs etc. Students are encouraged to participate in various competitions like ROBOCON, SAE BAJA etc. and have won many awards.
This Department has excellent placement records and offers training and test preparation for placements and other related exams in collaboration with the Placement Cell and CDC.
