About the Department
The undergraduate curriculum blends design, mathematics, modelling, computing, management and engineering science, covering fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & control, CAD and CIM. The department offers UG Mechanical Engineering and PG Industrial Engineering & Management, and runs conferences, FDPs, guest lectures, workshops, industrial visits and value-added courses. Graduates find opportunities across energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, steel, automotive, robotics and IT, in both the private and government sectors.
To impart comprehensive knowledge enabling students to become innovative, successful entrepreneurs in the advanced fields of mechanical engineering that meet industrial demands and social needs.
Provide quality education that enhances students’ ability to create, innovate and design systems based on new technologies; foster logical thinking to design systems for real-life situations; and equip students through a state-of-the-art learning environment promoting excellence, entrepreneurship, ethics and lifelong learning.

Message from Head of Department
The department provides a creative, innovation-driven learning environment with the mentorship and tools to excel in core engineering. It offers UG Mechanical Engineering and PG Industrial Engineering & Management, with modern laboratory and workshop facilities for research and projects. Corporate training, industrial training and consultancy translate into good placements and industry exposure; faculty upgrade their skills through FDPs; and MoUs with industries such as Thermax Limited, Pune support research, training and skill development for faculty and students alike.

A low-cost additive-manufacturing 3D printer for prototype fabrication and spare-part production, with applications in medical, aerospace and aviation.
An affordable go-kart exploring cheaper manufacturing and bio-fuel / hybrid propulsion to extend the sport to tier-3 towns while cutting emissions.
A noiseless, pollution-free PV-powered car for daily commute — zero emissions and minimal maintenance, addressing transport-sector pollution.
An electric vehicle offering an eco-friendly alternative to fossil-fuel transport, reducing greenhouse-gas emissions with zero tailpipe pollution.
A pedal-powered, five-speed machine that removes floating debris and plastic waste from water bodies — simple, cost-effective and eco-friendly.
A compact off-road ATV with a tight turning radius, high ground clearance and cutting brakes — adaptable as a miniature tractor for cultivation.
